In order to take the abolitionist cause as far as possible and in parallel with its World Congress, ECPM is developing long-term actions in Central Africa, the Middle East, North Africa and South-East Asia. These actions hinge on 4 main areas:
Since when ? ECPM has been engaged in Chad since 2013.
With whom ? ECPM works with the MOJ and in its first actions with PGA and FIACAT. Locally, we work on an ad hoc basis with ATPDH (Chadian Association for the Promotion and Defence of Human Rights) and ACAT Chad.
What's the goal ? Our objectives were to support the Chadian authorities towards their abolition of the death penalty - now to accompany them towards op2 ratification and the perpetuation of abolition, for example with an inscription in the Constitution.
ECPM has organized high-level meetings with the participation of Chadian actors at world and regional congresses against the death penalty, regional and international parliamentary seminars.
