OUR ACTIONS IN THE WORLD

In order to take the abolitionist cause as far as possible and in parallel with its World Congress, ECPM is developing long-term actions in Central Africa, the Middle East, North Africa and South-East Asia. These actions hinge on 4 main areas:

  • .  Federate to enable actors committed against the death penalty to join their strengths
Reinforce to provide these actors with strategic, financial and/or logistical support in their struggle.
  • .  Advocate to organise high-level political meetings, create awareness raising campaigns, establish regular anti-death penalty events
  • . Educate to raise awareness among citizens in educational environment.

2017: ECPM coordinates the project Supporting parliamentarians, national institutions and civil society organizations in partnership with Rights and Peace. This project, co-funded by the European Union and Norway, highlights in particular the work of the network of Cameroonian lawyers against the death penalty (RACOPEM), created in December 2016.

June 13 and 14, 2017: ECPM co-organizes a national conference with the aim of stimulating collective action by increasing vigilance, the capacity for action and the dialogue of civil society with national decision-makers but also to unite activists during national conferences. To do this, ECPM recommends increased support for national initiatives and the emergence of new players.
