In order to take the abolitionist cause as far as possible and in parallel with its World Congress, ECPM is developing long-term actions in Central Africa, the Middle East, North Africa and South-East Asia. These actions hinge on 4 main areas:
Since 2011, ECPM has been engaged in Algeria.
With whom?
ECPM has been working since 2011 with the Algerian League for the Defense of Human Rights (LADDH); Since 2017, ECPM has coordinated the project Supporting local actors towards the abolition of the death penalty in North Africa and the Middle East, with the support of the Agence Française de Développement, Norway, Switzerland, the delegation of the European Union to Morocco and the Fondation de France.
